Here’s a gun you don’t see often, if at all. I just picked this guy up at auction, and it’s begging to be someone’s new hunting gun. This gun is in fantastic condition, beautiful wood, little to no blueing issues, a shiny bore. The only thing that is a bit different is that the hammer has been welded on. However, the lock is crisp and works great!

From what I have read, these guys had a fast twist barrel for shooting heavy conicals behind heavy hunting loads.

Chances are, unless you already have one of these, you won’t find another any time soon, especially in the beautiful condition that this one is in. Price is $550 shipped.

Let me know if you have questions or would like more photos.

You buy the barrel for $550, I'll throw the stock in for free :)

It's to pretty for me to consider parting out right now.
I couldn't swing it right now, anyway. I'm sure it launches conicals with authority. Very nice.

The 50 caliber Black Mountain Magnum has a 1:28 twist QLA barrel that was designed to accept up 150gns of Black Powder or pyrodex and was one of the first sidelocks capable of using up to 3 pyrodex pellets.

Thompson Center brought out the Black Mountain Magnum about the same time as their Omega in a effort to appeal to those wanting a more traditional style muzzleloader, unfortunately it never had the following the Omega had. They also had a 54 caliber version with a 1:38 twist which was also advertised to use up to 150gn loads.
