My Fathers best friend told me how to do this. 3/8 brass rod stock. About 3/4 inch long. loading lever does not seat ball with small powder charge without filler? Solution? Load revolver with small charge. Complete rotation. Then put short brass rod in each chamber, give a quick final push to seat balls. Ready to go! No filler needed.

Certainly easier than measuring out a seperate charge of cornmeal to put underneath each wad...

A lot of cylinders have tapered chambers that narrow towards their throats however...ramming all the way down with a light charge compresses the ball preventing it from getting engaged with the bore's rifling in a stable manner once it passes the forcing cone (i.e. it bounces down the barrel)... I guess it depends on your needs...shooting at pop cans at 8 yds? I'd do it... resting off a tree trunk for a headshot on a squirrel at 25 yards? Might fill with cornmeal before going hunting...both methods have their purposes and applications for sure.

How light of a load do you use through yours? I normally shoot mine 9 grains without filler to avoid the hassle. I think that is the minimum charge recommended by the manufacturer. The next time I load mine, I am going to use a dowel and check whether my balls actually get seated or not. I am guessing that anything less than the manufacturers minimum would have seating issues. Hopefully 9 grains doesn't...i have done a few thousand 9 grain shots through it. 😆
