had a couple more evening casting sessions and had some success, left to right (not very good foto but I'm newbie so bear w/me. I'll post foto of the knives I made later) conical Lee mold slugs and RB for ROA, .45 REAL for ROA and '58 Rem., .440 RB (combo mold took some tinkering to get it to cast both sides w/one fill), .50 cal REAL for rifle (combo mold the RB side is giving me some trouble or I would have listed here also) and conical Lee slugs for '58 Rem. None of my single-cavity molds give me any trouble at all if I had known what a PITA double cavity is I would have got singles. Two knives I made are my main woods-bumming blades when 'trekking' with either of my revolvers (shoot them quite a bit) and yes I do wear suspenders when I have one of these hoglegs strapped on! Now to finish packing for my 2 night camping-plinking trip. :haha:

If you keep the molds hot and soot the inside of the molds witha butane lighter not candels, they leave a greasey film onthe mold surface, you should get good bullit fill out.
I use a barbique lighter. F.K.

Nice pistols. Do you like the longer barreled buffalo hunter? I guess they still call it that. I have an 8" barreled pistol like that and I love it, but always wanted the long barrel so I could get a shoulder stock to put on it. And those knives are really nice work. Post us some photos when you can.

I've been looking into those Lee Casters, what do you think of them? A friend of mine just bought one of theirs in 40/70, we're going to give it a shot this next week.
