Here's two neck knives I made for my better 1\2 and me. I know they might not be PC but I have a weakness for trade beads . I picked up some damascus scraps for a few $'s.I used a antler spacer to buffer metal to glass contact and two part white epoxy to hold it all together. The size dictated a neck knife but thought it work as a patch cutter. bear w\ me ,never posted a pic yet , I hope I get it to work.

Bovey - Handle is a milliflore bead , solid glass core(a cane)with small glass discs applied to its surface. Then the whole thing is refired to fuse it all together. This particular bead is called an "elbow". The antler piece is drilled thru and slid over the tang.I used 2 part epoxy (white) so it would blend with antler color. You can't see it in the photo but there is jimping on the spine. You only need a needle file or dremel and a couple of minutes but it really dresses up a knife.

How likely is that glass handle to break? I like the different colors, and your artistry, but have to wonder how practical it is to have a glass handle on a knife that is going to hand from your neck on a thong, and get knocked about some. If this is acrylic " glass", of course, it may take a few bumps and scrapes without shattering.

Valid observastion . My sheaths are buckskin lined w\ rawhide. They cover almost the complete knife. The glass, the bead is made from is tempered somewhat its making.I made these two for Sunday walkabouts.I'm not positive how well they would hold up to rigourous abuse.Wild Eagle

Thanks for the description of the handle. I really like the way it looks... Warren
