Exactly. I'd imagine he had an old barrel and stock and went from there.

My SMLE was made in Australia in 1916. I shoot it and it still shoot really well. I have to applaud the genius of man and his ability to fabricate.

Post 33. It's not pretty but it is Practical and Functial. Note the bayonette boss at the muzzle. The cap at the end is the Ram Rod tip. Full length iron ram rod.. O.D.
