I'm looking for an online source for .020 100% cotton mattress ticking. I'm down to my last scrap I bought from a mattress company that contracted for the Navy.

I don't know of an on-line source, I'm sure there must be one, but I get mine from Wal-Mart or Jo-Ann fabrics.
If you are in a bind and don't have those stores near you I'll bet me or someone would be happy to sent you a couple yards.
Fellow shooters don'cha'know. ::

Thanks Maxi-

Is the Walmart stuff heavy or light weight? I've seen pillow ticking that looks the same but I need the thicker stuff ( .020 by my measurement ) like they used in mattresses. Have to check em' out seein we have both of them in town.

Hay! that's the same material my Louisana Zouave pants are made out of.......I believe the Wal-mart ones are .015 washed.....They are pillow ticking........at least down here in Texas......you'd be best to take a sample to a fabric store......john......

At Jo-Ann farics I bought a yard 'er two of .020 DENIM. It makes for very good patch material, just be sure the bolt says 100% cotton. The denim is tough stuff, just wash the sizing out first, but you already knew that huh?

I just checked the excess material that I had left over from having those Zouave pants made.........unwashed they mike to .017, on the close under compression (where the mick starts clicking the ratchet).01575......sorry I don't think it'll work :curse:......I'll keep an eye open......john......

If you have a JoAnn Fabrics or a Hancock Frabrics you may find it in the matress ticking or just heavy cotton white materials. I just bought a bolt of the .018 at Hancock & they also had the plain white in .020. A bolt of it will lat me alot of years.

Last time I was at a Jo-Anns I bought four yards x 42" of 0.018 100% cottton tick. Someone on this list mentioned that Jo-Anns (I believe) carried some with an applied striping (not woven in) and it has a synthetic fiber. Don't get this by mistake. I also saw a synthetic blend on E-bay recently.

liver eatin; I just bought a yard of the stuff a wal mart in northen calif. you might ckeck there if one is near by.
