I tie flies, so I have an abundant supply of feathers in my fly-tying (doubles now as my leather working) desk. I hadn’t heard of feathers in the touch hole but I guess now I’ll pirate some feathers for this task too.

I buy feathers from fly tying shop, but have also received bags of them as gifts—from the kids—from craft store. They aren’t ideal for fishing flies... but would do well for this task.

Does anyone buy their feathers at a craft store or on eBay?
under my BIRD FEEDERS!! best place that I have found. so why would any one go and buy them? they are all over the place .just look down. and VIOLA!!

Since I'm also a fly tying fisherman there is an abundance of feathers that suit the bill. Right now I'm using some red dyed turkey quills as they are both durable and highly visible.

The white feathers from mature bald eagle heads fit my touch holes perfectly. Need to be mature birds though. Being white they are easy to find if you drop them as well.

😂...

I found these in a kitchen drawer, I think my wife has been hoarding!!!!
Wood duck maybe!
