How many ways have you tried it?
My mother thought that boiling was the best way to fix anything. So I though asspagas, zuccicini ect were tasteless green globs plopped down on my plate to teach m a good work ethic. As CC said I had to suffer through that glob so I could get a cookie at the end of the meal.
Try it in a few different ways, you may like it,...or not but think of all the good you do for personal growth, after all CC's mama has some cannoli.
 
You mean the Globe Artichokes or the Jerusalem Artichokes. The Jerusalem artichokes grow like weeds once started. We had a patch of them when I was a kid, and every fall I would have to dig a basket full for my great grandparents. They loved em. I don't currently know anyone who can eat the darn things without getting horrible stomach pains.

I laughed my butt off when "Sunchokes" were a yuppie food fad back in the late 1970's and folks kept getting ill.
 
I've had artichokes both from a can/jar as marinated artichoke hearts in a salad. They are as good as the marinade, as far as I can tell, and as good as the salad they are added to. I would call them salad filler.

I once tried the fresh artichokes that were steamed. the leaves were removed and dipped in melted butter, then the small bit of edible vegetable was scraped off of the inedible leaves. They tasted as good as the butter they were dipped in, as I remember. I can't say I've ever actually bought a fresh artichoke to eat it. It was not something my mother ever served us, nor that we ever served our kids. I know people that love them, though.
