A friend gave a box of B/P goodies, in it were two bottles of "Spit Patch", I remember the name from long ago but have never used it. For those of you that have used it, how did it work for you?
Hi Stony, what proportions of Windex and Murphs do you use?I've had some of it before, but gave it away and never bothered to try it. I like something I can reproduce with a good solvent and some lube in it. Buying something like that.....I would be afraid to get another bottle and hope it was all the same. I'm not a spit patch fan anyway, but at least using your own spit, you know you can reproduce it. I rather like a mix with Murphys oil soap and Windex and it works wonders for me. If I were you, I'd be giving those bottles of spit patch away too !!!
Thanx!I have used the same mix for a lot of years, and use it to clean the guns too. I take a medium size bottle of Windex and add a cup of Murphys to it.

Second that, approximately 1 part Balistol to 7 parts water, works as a patch lubricant and a cleaning solution. I do belief we call it "Moose milk?" In cold weather I use Wonder lube 1000.Any mix of water and some sort of grease cutting agent will work as a patch lubricant. It's really no better than the classic mix of one part of water soluble oil and water. There's a reason why it's not on the LGS shelves.
