Thimble Farm

I recently acquired this piece which came from Orleans County, VT. Hand forged with hammer poll. Some similar original examples out there and in Peterson's book on tomahawks. Head is 10 inches.
Try googling Cowan's Auctions, October 27, 2010. Lot 12. Same dimensions. Polled Spontoon.Yea I see a bunch of modern blacksmiths' wet dream hawks wanna be, no vintage wrought iron ( like you have pictured) hawks with that shape , what's the handle length?
Or a war hammer. That actually looks more like a vintage Katahdin style or railroad pickeroon, look at google images for both names
blade width is .75 inches at thickest part, by eyeWay to thick of a "blade" and hafted wrong for a tomahawk... Almost looks as if the smith was working toward a spontoon 'hawk, and didn't finish hammering it out.
That said,,,, I still wouldn't want it to meet my skull.
What is the intent of your comment?I can see you have decided not to peddle this over on the other forum this time.
