Vortex Diamondback for the $.
Compared vs my Unertl and was sold immediately.
Owned Kowa in the past, but too big in size for me.
Just bought a Swarovski (too good a deal) compared vs Vortex DB and could not tell a difference in clear skies at 200. Swarovski won in the rain though at 200.

Looking for a low cost spotting scope for the range.200 yards max. Do you prefer straight or angled. Our range has tables and I also have a larger tripod.

My wife wanted a spotting scope and she said just order me one.

I took her to the Cabelas north of Ft. Worth, they have a raised platform with each spotting scope they sell so you can do a side by side comparison.

She was amazed at the differences in clarity between the scopes, she left with a Leupold.

We prefer straight.

I would not buy a scope without a side by side comparison.

I use a straight one for standing or sitting, and and angled one for one the ground when shooting prone.

My straight one is a Bushnell Elite, and I love it. The angled one is a Vortex and I also like it.

I have a couple of tripod heads that you simply squeeze the handle and you are able to move the scope in any direction you like, let go of the handle and it locks in place. I really like these heads, makes moving your scope quick and easy.
