Sprue cutter?

Greetings All. I'm looking for a recommendation for a sprue cutter to use on balls/bullets cast from antique molds. Those that come up in a google search are either too lightweight (made for plastics and model builders) or heavyweight, more for professional machine shop use. Could someone point me in the right direction for a quality flush sprue cutting tool? Thanks!

Xuron makes a tool for cutting HO- and N-scale rail (for model railroading). It also works extremely well for lead sprues. Google Xuron for more information, etc.

The 6" diagonal cutters from Harbor Freight for about $4 will cut the sprue off. You can grind the back bevel down to get a bit more of a flush cut. No need for expensive flush cutting diagonal cutters.

That is what I did years ago, works great.

I use the diagonal cutters and give the ball a twist as I cut it. The sprue comes off right at the ball.
