Like previously mentioned. Watch Kiblers quick ship page. I just finished my second SMR in .36 cal the bace price was like $790. Of course rember $315. For the lock.
The stock was plane maple with a dark intrusion. You'll learn that the intrusion, worm stains just don't matter. And often blend in. I've put together 4 of the blem stock rifles. And there's nothing wrong with them.
My first flintlock was a used Pedersoli Kentucky. I was in the process of rebuilding it. I definitely didn't get a winner with that Rifle. I don't know how many previous owner that it had. But there are definitely some bad components on that old model Kentucky. The short story is that I started to replace bad parts and decided to just get a flintlock that works. And orderd my first Kibler SMR. 45. My only regret is I've ran out of wall space to hang my six Kiblers. The Pedersoli is still a disassembled non working project. Sometimes the blem stocks just call out to me. Here are a couple of examples.
Blem just means character!

I would love a Kibler, just don't have the extra funds right now with newborn twins. The rifles I'm deciding between:
If you must choose between those two, I'd say the Pedersoli. The Investarm is going to be pretty heavy in a small caliber.

The Traditions Crockett seems to have a strong following among the squirrel hunting members here and avoids the potential stock fit problem of the Pedersoli. If you decide to upgrade the Crockett re sells pretty good.

Twins!! Another thing to keep in mind is you need two of everything for your estate! 😅 Just trying to help you young guys with seeing down the road. 😀

I do like the Crockett, just can't find a flintlock version!

In the meantime take that .50 out and make some meat, have some fun.
I used to hunt squirrels with my .50 cal. T.C.; sometimes with the .54. I wasted the heads, but I never was much on eating the heads anyway. Over the years the sights on those rifles have gotten kinda fuzzy, and I don't climb hills as well as I used to. Grandpa hunted them with a 12ga when I was kid, measured powder and shot in his hand.

Bark 'em with that .50 😀 !

The eye is a better aiming point.
As to that canyon; that's a lot of squirrels, I'm kinda skeptical of that, but I'm also skeptical that a one gun frontier family living off the land, and with the threat of savages, ever kept a small bore as that only gun, so of course the defense gun doubled as squirrel gun.
