I just boiled 11 family size tea bags to stain a cloth cotton bag with. Anyone know how long I should leave the bag in the Tea? Then should I wash the bag before it dries or wait till dry then wash? Or should I just not wash it at all? :surrender: :idunno: I have approx. 1 gallon of STRONG Tea to soak it in....

Hopefully you'll show us how it turns out. I'm always interested in seeing a new/different pattern and I'd like to see the color it turns out. I wonder if the color will bleed onto your hip. :stir:

I'm not able to post pics currently.

As for the bleeding on the hip ...That's why I ask about washing out after the soaking thinking it would be less likely to bleed. :idunno:

The link above recommends tumble drying on high heat to set the stain but it doesn't say whether or not some bleeding might occur afterwards.

Here's the bag before the tea soak.

I soaked the bag in the tea for a total of 12 hours... :shake: I think it looks better but not exactly what I had expected. :(
