I just picked up some standard CCI #11 caps and I'm wondering if anyone can give me a comparison of them to Remington standard #11's.
I've been using Remington caps exclusively for years.
Do they perform about the same?

I was at a shoot and forgot my one capper and a fellow, bless his soul, gave me enought to finish. They worked good. I had used them back in 80s, then had when to the Germans. Lately been using the new Remington caps as easier to get and cheaper. Dilly

I've been using CCI stds for years no problem, but Wally is discounting BP stuff herebouts and I bought a tin of Rem's - they seem more powerful to me, I've shot less than 12 of 'em.

All of us in our circle use CCI except one who insists on Remington. It's a wet climate, but he's the only one who has cap problems. After six duds on three deer last day of the season, I think he's a convert to CCI. Don't know why the CCI's would hold up better in high humidity, but up here the vote is at least 8 to 1 that they do.

Dawg,

I have used them both. Which ever is on sale, lately it's been wally world with the remingtons.I have not been able to tell any difference. If you shoot a great plains rifle, as I do, the cci's may be a little tighter on the nipple, needing to be pushed on a little harder. Or you may get the famous "why does it take two drops of the hammer to get my caps to go off".
Been there done that.

I shoot all Lyman rifles and pistol. I hope the caps aren't too tight.

I still have 5-6 hundred Remington's left so it will be a while before the CCI's are used.

I have two Lyman rifles and a Trapper pistol. I have used CCI primers, but I notice an improvement in my weapons when I use the german caps. It may come down to which performs best for you.

It won't be a problem now that you know it could happen. It only becomes a problem if you don't know why your gun wont fire on the first drop of the hammer. I have filed my nipple down a little using a drill and a hand file. I can shoot cci's or remington caps just fine. Sometimes the cci's need a little nudge from the back of my Ted Cash capper.

I have been useing nothing but CCI caps for the last 6 years. I had a couple of tins from other manufactures that seemed to have lots of "duds" in them. I also only use the mag caps I figure that the extra little fire can't hurt, but could help. I have never had any misfires with any of my Investarm products with the CCI caps.

I use nothing but CCI #11 mag caps. I do have some CCI musket caps as well but have not tried them yet. Waiting for break up, too much snow and too cold presently.
