I don't feel that with a 1/4" rod with a brass tip there is enough metal for 10/32...after you drill the hole in the end and thread it you real close to the edge. with and 8/32 you have a bit more room.thats just me; you might feel more comfortable with the 10/32 on that small of a rod(1/4")
 
Just to add to the confusion.

Pedersoli now uses 5 mm Metric. On some rods the jag is a female and on others it is a male. :hmm:

Whilst on the matter of thread sizes. I bought a dozen 410 shotgun brushes for cleaning the .45. Do you know what the thread is normally on these brushes. It is quite large when compared with the normal rifle and pistol stuff.
