My son had come home from Korea for for 3 weeks And he got to spend a little time hunting while he was in a this morning he scored on a doe...I wish I had the eyes he does ... He took a hundred yard shot hitting it right behind front shoulder ... The deer dropped there flopped around for 30 seconds jumped up ran about 40 yards and fell over...I am glad he got a deer ... But I truly love the time we spend together hunting when he gets to come home.....his tour should end in the coming November (1 more year)...and hopefully he will get to come home then next year again and we can do it again... anyway just thought I would share with the form

That's great! I was curious if it was a Hawken style or long gun. I have a Lyman Trade Rifle and am going to see how well it shoots out to 100yds. That was a great shot he made and, now has a great story to take back with him. :thumb:

When my son, the Marine, was in Afghanistan during the war my prayers were constant for his return. Now, these years later he and I make good hunting buddies. Love it when he is successful and I can be apart of the experience.

Glad for your time and enjoyment with your soldier son.
I am thankful for your son's service....and glad to know he made it home...and y'all get to spend your time together

Congratulations to your son. My Oldest when in US Air Force out of High school and he is a Sr Master Sargent now 22 years later I'm very proud of him. But in all those years it has worked for him to go hunting with me 6 times. Twice in Virginia (our home for deer with muzzleloader) once in Oklahoma for Dove, once in Nebraska for Mule deer, Georgia for Feral hogs / Deer, and this Year to Colorado for Mule deer and we both scored our first. Those Times as I get older mean so much. Thank him for his service these guys give up a lot to do what they do.

Yes they do...and even though this is their service...a sacrifice they make...we (the family's) sure have to bare some of load as we lose time with them because of what they do....all that being said I am proud of the choice's my son has made...and what he does... thank your son as well
