I have had a CVA Hawken type for years and the lock and stock are in sad shape, but the barrel still shoots well. Do you know where I can get one to replace them and drop in the barrel? I could buy a new one, but I have had this one since I was I was 12, so it has some meaning. Thanks and good shoot'n!

I was able to replace my original CVA Mountain rifle lock when a local gunsmith assembled a small Siler lock on the original plate...did it to see if it could be done, and I bought it for $20...works great...maybe you can replace some of your lock parts and do something like that...Hank

a pawn shop in town has a cva hawken .50. it has a plastic buttcap but the stock seemed alright. $90, being i'm financualy embarassed it will stay there :(

Hunting1,
First, welcome to the forum.

Those things come up from time to time on Ebay and Gunbroker. Also I think I saw a lock tune up kit some where but I can't remember where.

BTW I live just east of Albuquerque. Where do you live? Where do you go to shoot?

Good luck with your refurb.

Thanks guys! I found one and am bidding on ebay. It is the Plainsman. Not pretty, but will work.

I am in Paradise hills in Albuquerque. I just shoot at the range. I like to shoot and hunt. Still don't have any good hunting partners yet. Give me an email if you want to hook and make some smoke.
