How many of you partially assemble a gun, and continue to build up finish on the stock? This walnut is taking a long time to fill the pores.

I wet sanded it with linseed oil and used flat black paint, but not all the pores are filled.
 
It depends on the gun your making.
I think many of the military type armmakers didn't care so they left the grain open.

If you want the grain filled, then back to the sandpaper. :grin:
 
Anyone ever hear the old linseed oil application rule? Once a day for a week, once a week for a month, once a month for a year, once a year after that. I have to say it sounds like your love life after you get married. :rotf:
