I was woundering if anyone knew of a company that i could send a piece of wood to to have milled into a stock for the long rifle that i am building.

I have sent four or five to Jack Garner of Tennessee Valley Manufacturing at Corinth, MS with my pattern and barrel size. He does very good work, has about 40 years of experience at cutting stocks. The reason I did this is I was making rifles for which no inletted stocks were available. Truly custom. He does very good work and can furnish barrels, locks, parts, etc. He routes the ram rod hole in the stock instead of drilling it. Says he loses too many stocks by drilling the hole. But he will drill if you ask. After I drilled a couple of mine crooked, I have a lot more acceptance of the routed hole. It is easy to fill it in with a piece of wood under the barrel. He was just discussed under "TVM" today, either this forum or Flintlock or Percussion.
