when shaping a stock with a swamped barrel does the forearm taper with the shape of the barrel?

 

Mine do on the sides, only slightly on the bottom.

Modern swamped barels are very exagerated and it only takes a little wood removal to be very noticable, espically with the quick flare out at the muzzle.

castoff , If you can get your hands on catalog 16 TOTW pg119 shows a close up of the muzzle of a Isaac Haines with no muzzle cap.It shows the wood holding the tapper very[url] nicely.underside[/url] and side view.
