I have Goex and Pyrodex to store over the winter. We get pretty cool here in Bozeman (20-30 below) but the humidity is low. Just looking for opinions.

right next to my smokeless powders. In original sealed container in a filing cabinet drawer in my office with all my reloading and shooting stuff

But then I only have a couple pounds of bp. And less than 10lbs smokeless across 4 flavors

First, follow local laws. As annoying as that may be, if there is ever an incident, not following them can void insurance, and leave you civilly and criminally liable for damages or injury.

Second, a wood box with 1" board walls offers a degree of fire resistance. When and if it burns through, the powder will go POOF, unlike a metal box (ie ammo box) which effectively becomes a bomb.

Just keep it dry and you willl have no problems. I store mine in the chicken house. No electric or heat to start a fire.

ALL my black powder is stored in a large, plastic picnic cooler in our basement here in Maine. The basement stays pretty much at a constant temperature year round.

That Goex was stored in an old refrigerator in an unheated shed for quite a few years. Our temps are lower than yours in the Winter, so if it has been working for you it should continue to do so with reasonable safe (out of the house) storage.
