Got a long heavy box from UPS this afternoon, and inside, one of the trimmest, prettiest little Southern "poor boys" I've ever laid eyes on. Roy built this around a swamped Burton .40 barrel, with a Chambers Late Ketland lock that is wicked fast. It is in the white, so that it can acquire an honest patina. This is the first swamped barrel I have had and Great Caesar's Ghost it handles like a fly rod! And Roy poured a segmented nose cap the likes of which I have never seen.
Will report when I can get it to the range.
Roy, thank you! http://i23.photobucket.com/albums/b356/BillOregon/fullsizeoutput_878_zpssigwggmy.jpeg http://i23.photobucket.com/albums/b356/BillOregon/fullsizeoutput_87a_zpst9z9oygb.jpeg

Sweet!
I have a couple of Stroh guns with Burton barrels. I bet she shoots great.

She sure is sweet... and very pleasing on the eyes!

Looking forward to a range report! :hatsoff:

Received my rifle from Roy last summer and I couldn’t be more pleased. Mine's an early rifle with carving, etc. but when you see that a maker can make a beautiful gun just on the merits of the architecture, you know he’s a good builder.

Hard to go wrong with one of Roy's guns!
Congrats on a great looking rifle!

Nice work Roy

Very cool! Nose caps are interesting embellishments. Saw one built with a horn nose cap that looked really cool
