stuck ball

Please don't take offense, but in a word, NO! I can't count the number of times I've had to put up with the distraction of someone either having trouble seating a ball in a dirty bore (that the owner was neglecting to use a simple spit patch), or pulling a ball and being interrupted by someone who was "in-love" with their ramrod. I don't know who the bigger fool is: the idiot who's interrupting the entire line during a Match (looking to borrow a Range Rod)or ME, since I'm such a nice guy and want to use my Range Rod with ball puller so as to NOT make as big a SCENE disturbing everybody else....LOL!

I operate the Running Boar range at Friendship, and took a hint from the Offhand line there. I keep a range rod rigged for ball pulling ready whenever the range is open. I also have a SCUBA tank sized CO2 discharger at hand, but when you REALLY stick a dryball, a sturdy range rod will almost always do the trick.

As the Chief Range Safety Officer for one of the Clubs I belong to and shoot at, I feel your pain, lol! CO2 works wonders most of the time, but there are those times when it doesn't, and a sturdy Range Rod will always do the job.

That CO2 Unit has saved my bacon several times now, and several of my friends too. I won't leave the house without it. :stir:

I have a very old hawken and have had to use a ball puller twice, however it was somewhat easy. Ball pullers are one of the most crucial accessories of muzzleloading. They can save you when the powder trick doesn't work.
