Here are just some things I've seen.
1. Guy shoot a rectangular hole in his target from an original .45 cal. percussion rifle.
2. Fellow member of the Forty Twa does not let me know ahead of time and shows up at a reenactment with the cock off his lock. Then he couldn't get the lock out. Use tape wrapped adjustable wrench to cock it to half cock, get the lock out, disassemble it and reassemble properly. FORBADE member from taking his cock off the lock to "clean it like they did with musket hammers for CW reenacting."
3. Fellow member of the Forty Twa notifies me only minutes before a reenactment (we were actually standing in formation just waiting to march out) that he has a patch stuck in the breech of his Brown Bess. The only worm he has is undersize and won't catch the patch. I stuck a vent pick in the touch hole and caught the patch so the undersize worm caught the patch and we got it out.
4. During a WBTS tactical, excited member comes up to me with a rammer, worm and patch stuck HARD in the bore. Two of us pulling on each end could not get it out. Went up to the Ladies of the unit and got them to boil some water. Poured that into barrel and the wetted patch and slightly heat enlarged bore allowed us to get the rammer, worm and patch out easily.
5. International Shooter got a cleaning patch stuck in the bore of his original 1841 Mississippi Rifle bore with no worm. I had an original worm the rammer threaded to perfectly and we got it out. Made SURE I took my original collection of gun tools and appendages to all further International shoots.
