Three sizes of hinged-lid plastic vials.
The smallest is a 3 dram size...I'd probably get the middle size (7 drams) so there plenty of free board to avoid spillage when flipping the lid open.

I stumbled across a supply of capped plastic vials. The wife buys a vitamin energy drink called Zip-Fizz. It comes in the vials. I used them on my deer hunt this year and work great. I have her saving them so I can pre measure loads before range trips. A piece of masking tape and a sharpie to I.D. charge and granulation. Saves a bunch of time at the range. BTW, it also allows me to weigh each charge @ home on my reloading scales.

I use 35mm film cannisters for range trips...get them by the hundreds for free from all the photo developing places at Walmarts, Kmarts, drug stores, etc.

The nice thing about these hinged lid vials is for hunting...it's a one hand operation...flip it open with the thumb of the hand that's holding it while holding the barrel of the ML with the other hand...and the lid stays attached, doesn't get lost

I guess I am cheap. I use some old 20 guage shells and a cork for hunting reloads. Measure out the powder at home and stick them in my pocket. A small cap size tin full of lubed paches. If they get dropped and lost I am only out pennys. Leon

I guess different strokes for different folks is what makes the world go 'round...Stumpkiller had recently posted a photo of gear that he liked to use, mentioned he hadn't seen any more of the hinged lid vials in a long time...I happended to stumble across some while looking for something else and simply posted the link as a favor to him and anybody else who happended to like using them.
:v

I have some of those they work great. $12.00 for 20 is a tad pricey though.
I got mine for free but can not remember where they came from???

Those tubes should work quite well. I am cheap though, Ihave a friend who smokes Garcia Y Vega cigars on occasion, and saves me the plastic tubes they come in. I trim them down to about three in. long with the band saw and shove the cap that comes with them into the end of the tube.

Good idea...another example of a long list of things that will hold powder...however, the main uniqueness of hinged lid vials is that they're a one hand operation, plus there's no worry about losing the lid
