Hello from Germany,

last week a 20 year old guy emailed me in the german WO-forum and asked about ML shooting. So I told him many things he wanted to know. He then went to a gunshop and bought a Investarm Hawken .45 capgun and all the stuff for starting except bp. Therefore you need a permission which you'll get after 6 months shooting.Yesterday we were together at the range and he really enjoyed it. He seemed to be a good shooter because he has airgun expirience, so he was able to put all hits in the black part of the paper at 50m. He even made a dry ball at the first time

So he is really hooked and engaged in the stuff.

Regards

Glad you guys had a good range trip. I didn't quite know what to make of your post title (Successful Hooking) at first glance if you are familiar with American street slang. :haha:

Man it would be great to have a Muzzleloader forum members get together to shoot or just a weekend to see members and talk? ie BS. I run a kids day to shoot black powder and they cannot get enough of the sport. NWTF
I think the way the economy is it not going to happen any time soon. :barf:

Good work with the young man.

Gen. Joseph Hooker- a Union Army Commander during our Civil War- had numerous professional ladies around his headquarters. These women became know as "Hooker's girls". This was shortened to "Hookers" a term for a prostitute.
Thus, I am sure your topic got a detailed reading.

Good job. I thought about you when at Log Cabin today. You would have loved it. Keep up the good work. Dilly

That is true enough but if we got all the members together with family and friends at one time I don't think Friendship could accomodate us.

I'll have to admit the tittle had me looking :shake: ! Great to see someone get tuned into what it's really all about! BP :blah:

Sorry for the perhaps wrong use of the term, but I changed the term "getting hooked" in doing it to someone else, so this person got hooked or I hooked the person. Furthermore my dictionary says about "to hook" that it means to become addicted to something. So I was able to get the young fellow addicted to ML shooting.
I didn't know that some of you thought about things like prostitution. :shake:

I think you chose a good term for addicting another guy to the world of muzzle loading.

As with most languages there are always words with multiple meanings.

I recall when one of the U.S. food companies had a very good canned product called "Big John's".
It consisted of a can of beans with a small can of a rich sugary tomato/bacon sauce that you added to the beans while they heated. It made some very good "baked beans".

They decided to market it in Canada and wanted to appeal to the French Canadians so they renamed it "Gros Jos".

They quickly found out that the French Canadians sometimes used the term "Gros Jos" to refer to exceptionally large and well developed parts of the upper female body! :shocked2:

They also quickly renamed their beans. :rotf:

We could all get together at the Spring shoot at Friendship this year. There is camping on Primitive Hill for about 100 extra tents.

Many Klatch

LOL. Many things are lost in translation. Don't ask an hombre at a Mexican market "?Tienes, usted, huevos?" which is literally "Do you have eggs?" as he will take great offense, grab his crotch and tell you "Si! Tengo huevos grande!
