I have been given a deer skin that has been fleshed and stretched. I was looking for some suggestions on what I could make with rawhide?

Thanks,

Scott

Possibilities are endless, but I first I would think of a gun sock/case.

Maybe a haversack?

Anything with large pannels would show off the hide well.

In S. America they use rawhide to make slot of horse tack, including saddles, reins, and chaps. Rawhide, once broken in can be fairly pliable.

Cut wet it’s easily molded and when dry is hard and in that shape. Ball bags, or tobacco pouches are good hand held projects.
Then small round or square boxes in the shape of cap boxes or tinder boxes even fitted with friction lids works
