I was trying out some new patch material in my 73 cal.
I upped the powder 50 grains and the groups have tightened up. Two different lubes, and they both work. 50/50 castor oil and Murphy's Oil Soap. and Olive oil and MOS. :yakyak:

Anyway..............as I ws walking down to the target after my 7th shot.........two hens turkeys crossed the shooting lane just in front of the 150yd back stop.

A vey dangerous place too be! :nono:

Last year about this time ....after each shot a Tom would gobble.......that was funny to hear. They like the blast of a muzzleloader!

Hope they like my 7ga. full of shot!

Unless you carry a loaded gun to the backstop, they are safe...

They were watching you and didn't see you reload, that is why they came out, shame they don't do that during hunting season...

Up at the IWLA club I belong to, the deer pass in front of the targets before and during hunting season, right when many are sighting in to hunt deer, sometimes making people wait before they can shoot. I think the deer are in cahoots with a squirrel or mouse that is checking the shooter's bags whether they have written permission to hunt from the landowner. It's all a conspiracy; must be.

Kinda cracks me up, though, that the safest place can be right in front of a loaded hunting rifle with someone peeping down the barrel right at where the deer is. If I were a deer, I certainly would be very confused about them humans.

That is quite common at my house also. It doesn't bother the deer till late fall. Once deer season starts, they don't stand arround and watch!

But, the year that I would shoot and the Tom would Gobble was really funny to listen to!
