Swaged v cast rb

Loaded correctly, i.e. stump straight up or down, I have found no difference in the accuracy with a cast ball over a swagged one.
 
Me too. the cast balls are ones I cast, so the saving over bought swaged is nice. Hank
 
Just for kicks, Weigh a bunch of swaged balls. I think that you will discover a wide variation in weight ,in the same batch. Nuff said
 
I found the same thing several years ago. I had a box of Hornady .395's and decided to compare their weights with my homemade ones. My cast balls weighed the same much more consistently than the swaged balls.

As far as sprues go, I use Lee molds for my .390's and .395's and there is no sprue. Just a barely noticeable flat spot.
