Can anyone tell me anything about the Leonard Day double barrel swivel action gun..Do they lockup tight? Are they accurate and easy to use..

Are you asking about a new Leonard Day gun, or one that someone else has owned? If New, the answer is " Yes", and " Yes". If has been owned by another, who knows what condition it may be in?

I guess my concern is does the swivel action ever wear out or need adjusting..

The answer would be yes. They loosen up with use.

And if they loosen, they can be tightened. If you are interested in a swivel breech by L. Day, go for it. Those are good guns.

The secret to reducing wear is to oil or lube the two plates that rub against each other when the barrels are reversed, or " swivel". The Day Swivel Breech guns are adjustable, but if you maintain the gun well, its going to be years before you will begin to think about it. Save the literature in some safe place- like with your will, insurance policies, and car titles.

Consider using a dry "lube" on those plates- like using a carpenter's pencil to rub graphite into both plates' surfaces. The graphite fills the pores of the metal, and provides a slick surface that is not easily worn away. Any Graphite/oil mix lube, sold for key locks, or for use with Bullet molds, will work, too. They may just have to be re-freshed more often than using the pencil for a dry lube.

Mine locks up tight and is very accurate. You can fire the top barrel and release and rotate the lower barrel into firing position without lowering the gun from your shoulder. Should wear occur after years of use, there is a take up system to tighten it up again. Nice guns and they've been around a long time-mine is number 606.

I was looking at two on Sitting Fox and they both run around 2500.00..Is that about normal in price

Buffalo Arms had a L. Day swivel breech rifle a year ago for around #1500 IIRC, don't know if they still have it. Could give them a holler.
