I just chopped 4 inches off a Hawken 45 caliber barrel. Moved the under rib back one hole, cut 2 and 1/2 inches off the back of the under rib, drilled and tapped three holes in the barrel to reattach the under rib. Fits perfectly in either a White mountain carbine stock, or a PA Hunter stock. Makes a nice handy 45 caliber carbine for deer hunting.
