When Thompson Center first made the Pennsylvania Hunter which was their first .010 inch cut rifled 1/66 barrel, I bought one (probably 1990). If I remember the rifle cost $335.
I was hoping it would group better than my TC Hawken. It didn't for whatever reason. My buddies CVA Hawken would much tighter groups at 100 yards with 90 grains of 2f than both TC's. Sent it back to TC. They said nothing was wrong with it. I sold the Pennsylvania Hunter barrel to a fellow but told him to try it out before paying me. He brought it back. I still have that barrel minus the breech plug, sights and rib. Needless to say, I was soured on TC's 1/66 after that. It probably needed lead lapped.
I bought a Green Mountain Drop in later and never looked back. I could outshoot the CVA's then.............Bob
