ok guys if my 45 hawkens isnt a shooter . what are my options on replaceing the barrel ???

Any T/C Hawken barrel 15/16ths across the flats. I know they came in .45 and .50 from T/C. I believe the .54s were all 1" across.
Green Mountain made 15/16ths drop-in .54 barrels for the T/C Hawken too, in addition to .32, .40, .45, and .50 calibers.

Don't panic yet. Find out if it's a shooter, try to work out the problems, if any. :2

What Toot said. Check everything first before deciding it isn't a shooter. Well unless of course you need an excuse to get another barrel.

What has lead you to the conclusion that it isn't a shooter? Would you mind telling us everything you have tried?

ya could buy the green mountain barrel that's listed in the classifieds here and save about 50 bucks or so plus the shipping off track of the wolf's price. just a thought.

i dont know its not yet . i havent even shot the first target. i hope to do so today. i am just thinking out loud and planning ahead "a fault of mine " . i have a cva hawkens but i like the t/c over it. so if it means buying a new barrel thats my next move. but i hope its shoots ok with out it . let ya guys know how it does on the range soon i hope , thanks

You could buy a Green mountain drop in barrel and build a Hot Rod Hawken. This one shoots sub 2" groups at 100 yards with paper patched bullets. Ron

sharp gun !! and a good thought . i also like that u can mount a sling to your gun . can i buy a ram rod holder that has that sling hook like yours ???

Yes, the sling set is avaible from several sources you will just have to look. Try Midway and Track of the Wolf.

i could a chance to take the gun out today. i was shooting at 40 yards , wit 440 ball. pillow ticking lubed with bore butter. 60 grains of goex 3f .first two shots was high and right but almost touching . i made one sight adjustmen and she was dead on the money after that . so i guess all is well with my t/c 45 hawkens. season opens here saturday . i hope if all is well to bring home some meat with it . thanks to all that have help me out , i have to say i have learned from y'all. thanks again

I used a piece of aluminum. I fitted it with a file. I already had the tang drilled. I just used longer screws. It works great. Ron

I have the same brass sling holders on my T/C Hawkin. Did they make a sling for that particular set up? I use a slip on, lace up sling on my GPR...
BTW...cool term, " HOT ROD HAWKIN"...love it!

I actually made the thimble that has the sling swivel on that hawken. I was unable to order one from midway and other outlets so I just made one. Ron
