My brother stripped out the nipple threads in his T/C .54 caliber Hawken, lost the nipple too, the gun was of 1980's vintage...

I sent the barrel assembly to T/C Arms repair dept. with the above explanation, I even told them it was not my barrel...

I had it back within a week, not only did they replace the breech plug, they also included a new nipple, a new matching tang for the stock and they reblued the old barrel to match the new parts...

That is above and beyond service in my book, at first I thought they just replaced the whole barrel, but it still has the original serial number...

Total cost to me and my brother: postage to send it to them...

That's simply outstanding isn't it...TC's lifetime warranty service is second to none and I don't mean marginally...I mean head & shoulders above all the rest

Musketman, you just can't beat that with a stick. I think this is the first time roundball has used the word "outstanding" regarding something that actually IS. That is truely remarkable service. Did you contact them ahead of time or just packed it up and sent it in with the note?

Cody

And some people wonder why others have them on their IGNORE list. Seems like every time we get rid of one instigator we get another 2 to replace them. Why do you go out of your way to push peoples, (especially Roundballs) buttons? Why can't everyone just answer questions, give GOOD advise, and try to Get ALONG?

I see that you've made a reply to someone named 'cody'...yes, I put him on ignore as soon as he started posting on the forum...didn't take long to see that the trend of his posts contained nothing of value, and worse, they all looked like, sounded like, and smelled like the posts of a troll...not worth wasting time with...too many other good people on the Forum

He Roundball,

I have been away from the forum for a while and have missed some of the "fun" that happens here. I have always found your posts informative and helpful, and it is clearly evident that you strongly prefer TC. TC does provide great service and they produce a fine product, so there is nothing wrong with you showing a preference for them. Keep posting the good stuff!

Thanks...Musketman actually started this thread commenting on the same outstanding kind of service that is typical of Thompson / Center.
:hatsoff:

By contrast there are always a few negative people sround who never take the initiative to make positve posts of their own...they never champion things of their own areas of interest...they sit around and try to rain on other people's parades who are enjoying positive achievements in life...sad way to spend free time, eh... :shake:

I also agree that Thompson/Center service is outstanding, and has the best warranty in the business. I own many fine T/C ML's, and whenever I have dealt with thier service dept., I have gotten 100% satisfaction.

T/C's Service alone is reason enough to buy from them. They are OUTSTANDING!

Cody,
Like my Ol'Man used to say...
If you haven't got something good to say then shut your friggin Yap! :hmm:

Yep that is truly outstanding of T/C. They could have just put in a heli-coil and shipped it back at your cost, but they didn't they take care of the people that own their product. If I ever buy another "production" rifle it will definatly be a T/C after all the praises I have heard about them. I agree that roundball writes some informative stuff on the forum. I have talked with him by PM and he has always helped me the best that he could over the net. Thanks roundball.

I've never owned a T/C muzzleloader but I might just have to get me one so I can try and shoot the heck out of it to take advantage of the "Outstanding" service! :hatsoff:

My personal wish list for one in the future is a .45 cal. Hawkens. Or, the model that offers an interchangable barrel for 12 ga.

I do own the T/C Encore but can't seem to stop the bullet walks from happening as the barrel heats up. But that's another forum. :rotf:

I have to say that it is testimony's such as these about T/C's lifetime warranty that has got to be one of their bigest selling points.

Is there any limitations on the warranty?
I called them about a Renegade that I had bought at an auction that had the bluing removed from the trigger guard and the gal told me it wasn't covered because I wasn't the original owner.
:hmm:

Is the Renegade a kit? You can tell by looking at the serial number. If it is a kit it should start with a K. If it is a kit it may never have been blued. The warranty is for the life of the gun, just like Taurus. It doesn't matter if you are the original owner.

Cody

I called them and they gave me the address of their service dept. and said to just mail it there with a letter explaining the problem...

Nothing harder than that, I expected the breech plug to be replaced and that was all, everything else was a trip down the bonus aisle...

Not bad for a company that makes barrels in 1:48 inch twist, eh? :haha:

I don't think there was a limitation, I clearly stated to them that this was not my gun, it was my brother's and they still fixed it...

I don't have an exact answer for you, all I can do is speculate that the trigger guard's blueing is not a critical components, it is more cosmetic...

Still, it is supposed to be a lifetime, bumper to bumper warrantee...

Roundball,

I knew that Musketman started the thread, and he likewise has lots of good stuff to post - even if he is the authority figure and we are supposed to rebel against him for that.. :blah:

Heck, most of the folks that post here are great folks! Very helpful and supportive. Occasionally a troll will throw something up and that takes the shine off things. (Actually, I got tired of reading the tripe from someone that used to post here and that is part of the reason I took a short leave)

I had a couple of situations years ago where it seemed like depending on who you got on the phone interpreted their coverage differently...I got tired of that and simply quit calling ahead of time...just shipped whatever I had directly to the service manager with a note inside, never had any more difficulties
