I have a New Englander that takes the screw-in choke tubes. The only choke I currently have is a full choke. Do I need to get additional tubes from T/C, or is the thread size a standard size?

If i recall correctly, they are the same threads as the Mossberg tubes. But i could be mistaken, so you might check one first to see.

T/C uses the same choke tube systems as the first generation Winchester/Mossberg/Weatherby. I have not seen a new straight cylinder barrel from T/C or Fox Ridge for a while but do see them rarely on the auction sites. My favorite chokes are the WinChoke tubes by Winchester. They are made without the notches for a wrench. I find it easier to push wads past the choke without the slots to grab the wads or my fingers. Last time I checked you could get a cylinder tube in the WinChoke line.

Old Ford... Yup... the T/C comes in smoothbore. I've got one in 12ga. with a straight cylinder bore. Obviously, the Bald Mtn Man has one too, but his is the fancy, choked model. :haha:

Hey Rebel,

Where do you see the T/C 12 gauge smoothbores come up for sale? And what is the deal on screwed in chokes?

Thanks

I see them at Auction Arms and Gunbroker. The links are below. I don't like the screw in chokes. I had one with them and the only one i ever used was the imp cylinder. The notches in them to change chokes messes up the wads as you try to load them. JMO
