Hi all, just received a Renegade in the mail and it had the barrel removed, I assembled the rifle but the wedge pin keeps falling out, I installed it from hammer side, is there a trick to this or is something missing/wrong. Thanks.

If you look at the pin it will be slightly of set. Try both ways. I put mine in the same as you on the lock side. If it still wont tighten up use a small hammer and bend the pin slightly. Ron

If I have a wedge pin that doesn't go in snug I will cut a strip from a business card or use a patch and place between barrel and stock (shim) and squeeze together with your hand and insert wedge.

Never did like to bend the wedge pin, If I have one that's loose I bend the barrel lug instead. Those T/C lugs are pretty soft, just a light tap with the ball side of a ballpeen hammer works fine. If it's too tight, a large blade tip screwdriver inserted and a firm twist will open it up.
The brass and steel wedge pins are different thickness too, I think the brass is thicker, I'd have to go dig them out and look.

I smack a brass pin on the flat with a hammer, and it usually spreads the pin enough to make it tight..Hank

2 Bolts and a Steel rod.

I open the jaws on a vice and tap it with a small hammer. I can replace the wedge I would have a hard time replacing the piece on the barrel. Ron

Hello

I lost the wedge pin in my Traditions several years back and the spare I had fit lose like yours does.

The temporary solution (which I still use) is to wrap a piece of scotch tape around that pin. That will get it nice and snug but you can only take the pin out a time or two before you have to do it again.

yeah, that'd work. One of the magazines had an article showing how to put a retaining pin in the piece. I might do it..Hank
