Hi! Someone at my club just gave me a new T/C tang sight, still wrapped in the plastic off the card T/C packaged it in (but no card with model info :( ), so I am not sure which one it is.

Looking on fleabay, the one for the Seneca is going for $150 to $225 asking (new in package - just today!). Yippee! I guess ... but I see they made 3 models:

#7194 - Fits Hawken, Renegade, PA Hunter, Big Boar & White Mountain Carbine models
#7196 - Fits Cherokee & Seneca models
#7197 - Fits New Englander model

How do I know which one this is, by the hole spacing? If so ... uhhhhh, does anyone know them?

Thanks!

AFAIK, the difference between the #7194 and #7197 is flat tang and curved tang respectively. I've not had a #7196 to compare.

#7197 would also fit the Tree Hawk, Grey Hawk, Black Mountain Magnum, and (I think)the Firestorm.

Can you show and actual photo, side view, or your sight? A profile view may shed some insight.

That sight, went for under $40.00 when they made them. I have one on my .54 Investarms, GREAT score. Congrats.

Drilled and tapped the tang on Ol' Ugly today, fitting one of the sights picked up last week in Kansas. Got the #29 drill bit at Fastenal. Could have just used a 1/8" and opened it up with a rat tail file but glad I spent the money for the bit.
Now the stock will get reworked to suit holding with the peep.

Hey brother *, take a look at this image...

It shows the T/C Hawken peep sight (#7194) mounted on both a Cherokee and Hawken. The standard Seneca/Cherokee model (#7196) would not have that 1/8" gap under the body of the sight; the body would be just about flush with the base.

The Hawken-style sight actually worked out just fine on my Cherokee, but I did switch to a different front sight anyway.

* Really guys, he is my brother -- my twin, by the way! :hatsoff:

Tight groups.

It sure would be nice to have a #7197 on my thompson center new englander. There are sure hard to find.

I have been looking for 3 or 4 years. A few days ago a friend picked one up in an estate sale. Still in the plastic. He has no use for it and said I could have it. :) I will give him something for it as that's only fair. Don't know which model it fits but have all of them anyway. They are around but scarce. Wish somebody would start manufacturing them again. Larry

Thanks BB  . Looks interesting I will try to find the price. Just found one price for 70. Larry
