Tang sight movement .451

I had my PH Volunteer at the range today……great fun as usual. The range only offered 50 yard distance and my other range offers 100 yards. I use the open sights with on the Volunteer but I have a Tang sight for it. When the tang sight is fitted into its upright position, it moves when fired. I can see no way of locking it. I would question repeatability, would it not? How do other use the tang sight?

Need some photos, AND what do you mean "it moves"? Does is fold, wobble side to side, or something else? Perhaps multiple movement?

If the sight is just falling forward under recoil then that is to be expected. Just remember to set it back upright for your next shot! You don’t need to lock it, and allowing it to move lets it absorb the shock of the recoil. You can just put a rubber band around the wrist and over the eyecup to hold the sight upright, but not too strong - you don’t want the band snapping the sight back too hard and damaging it.
