I recently aquired a very old chair with hand-stiched tapestry covering. I am re-upholstering the chair with modern fabric, but would like to use the old stuff for a shooting bag or some such. Any pics of things to emulate?

Do you have at least some French Taste? I went into one of my files on original Shot Pouches and found the link no longer works to a Pouch made from fabric similar to yours. It was period "tape" banded all around the pouch and flap as well as the shoulder strap. However, since the link to that no longer worked, thought you might like an even more elaborate embordered French Pouch.

Carpet bags (upholstry print) were big in the mid 19th century, I would go for it, I made a couple haversack type bags out of this type of fabric. I wouldn't add any leather decorations or fring, look a little too girlish our touristy in my opinion. Maybe some light leather in the opening would help prevent against wear.

Thank you all for your input. I will post when I have a product. I think some sort of edging will be needed to stop the net from fraying. We'll see what is needed.

No embroidery skills here, and no distaff personnel on call to do it for me, but the shape and style is sort of what I have in mind. It will have a leather strap most likely.

You are most welcome.
