Blue Trail is an option, I've heard they have gotten expensive (but what hasn't) though.
The DEEP website, ct.gov/deep I believe, under outdoor activities, hunting and trapping, lists ranges open to the public. There aren't many but they exist. Mostly you are looking at joining a club of you want to shoot with any regularity.

I'm in the same boat, got a T/C White Mountain Carbine from a friend and want to try it out.

I know Bluetrail is popular, and it's $39 for the day. It's about 35minues away from where I am (New Haven County) but the same distance is also "High Rock Shooting Association" range in Naugatuck which is open to the public on the weekends, I was planning on checking that place out, $10 for 1st hour, $5 for additional and with a 100 yard outdoor range.
