Hi Robert,
I used to use 28-gauge wads in my T/C .56, but went to the Ox-Yoke felt wads for .58 caliber at the suggestion of someone here (Roundball, I think).
For a shot load, I have always gotten better patterns using more shot than powder (65 grains of 3f Goex, 80-90 grains volume equivalent of #5 shot).
For roundball, I use 80 grains of 3f, .58 felt wad, .550 roundball in a .015 cotton patch.
These are great little guns, I started my son with one of these because I wanted to be able to control the amount of recoil he got - didn't want him to be afraid of the gun. He took his first several squirrels with his, and I have taken squirrel, rabbit, quail, and deer with mine.
Enjoy -
:hatsoff:
