I'm in the process of cleaning up a TC barrel from a TC Hawken. It has all the usual TC markings, but on the underside just behind the lug there is this mark as in the photo. It's an M. I've never 3 this type of stamp before and I wonder if anyone has
An Idea what it might be for.

It is one of the common barrel marks that I have seen besides Maltese cross and Spade marks. Don't know for sure what it means; my guess is that it is an in-house manufacturing mark that T/C used.

I have saw M, Spade, Maltese Cross and a Star on the underside of the barrel. Some believe this designates barrel makers but no definitive proof as far as I can find talking to older TC Collectors, I have also seen the same markings in the barrel channels of a few early Stocks. I have marked and unmarked barrels on my small caliber guns and all of them shoot really well.

Possibly an inspection mark?????? The four marks mentioned could be four inhouse factory inspectors. Just a guess on my part.
