Did TC ever number the stocks on their Hawken rifles?
I picked up a nice stock, complete sans barrel and under the patch box lid, it is numbered "84XX" and a nice hand engraved job of it! Just curious.

Brett

Just checked mine. It has a number on the inside of the patchbox cover, but is nowhere near the number on the barrel. It is 3 digit, and the barrel is 5 digit.

Hey Brett, ya going to restock yer TC with it, or find another barrel to put in? If ya can, post some pics of the stock? Love to see the engraving.
Scott

T-C used assembly numbers on some of the parts. Theses were parts that were selected for the rifle at the onset of construction and these parts stayed together until the final assembly. Under the tail of thr trigger guard they sometimes left a numbered paper or plastic. Hope that this helps.

Agree...I've removed butt plates and seen the matching number written on the undernmeath side of them as well

Scott,
Had a virgin 50 sitting there stockless! this was the original barrel on my gun when I put the .40 on it.
Dont know what I'm going to do with it yet, might be good trade goods for a shotgun or trde gun...maybe.
