I have a laminated Hawken myself. Got it in new condition almost 3 years ago and she's an excellent rifle. By far and away, my most accurate sidelock.
A bit visually curious to be sure, but very attractive. They are quite rare. Perhaps the rarest of the TC Hawkens. Paid $250 for mine. Was once offered a RIDICULOUS return on investment. Turned it down though. One of eight after all.
I understand there were more stocks made and those were sold through Fox Ridge, but like all TCs, impossible to confirm.
Regardless, the laminate Hawkens are fine rifles that will give good service. There are those who poo poo the TC as not being a " true Hawken". So what? It got hundreds of thousands of shooters into muzzleloading. Our sport is better for it. As far as the stock goes, it IS wood, not Tupperware!
I hope you come to enjoy your laminate as much as I do mine!

Did you get that "there's only eight of them" info from Swampman on Graybeard Outdoors? He pimped that nonsense for years. A friend of mine has owned three and over the years I've seen a couple dozen for sale on Gunbroker. They ARE pretty rare but not quite the 'hen's teeth' some try to claim.

Gray Beard yes. Swampman no.
I spoke to a fellow who was a TC gunsmith and he said the only laminate Hawken he ever saw was in the " Altar". That was TC's model room.
I saw an ad for a run of 2000 laminates, but found no confirmation it was ever done.

It was my understanding that TC bought it's wood from various sources and occasionally a very nice 'hawken' or other would show up. In some businesses this might be called a freak because of it's uniqueness. My wife's Seneca has a fairly nice stock but the dealer allowed her to go through his inventory and pick it out.

Had no idea that my dad’s 40 year old TC Hawken wasn’t a true Hawken. But then again I guess I don’t care. lol.

TC Hawken rifles are great guns. In fact, I really want one of their new versions that has the removable breech plug. Make cleaning the gun so much easier. Plus it has a 1/28 twist that stabilizes the powerbelt type bullets. But I’m a hunter first and foremost.
