I'm in the process of putting a new Maple Stock, steel trigger guard and buttplate on an olde TC Hawkens, bought everything from TOTW, supposed to be TC replacements, having some trouble with the trigger guard at the momen, the feet on it that mount in the wood is not the same as the TC, the front one that covers part of the trigger plate is much larger and will need to have a lot of metal removed then the circle part of the trigger guard that covers the triggers is not as big as the TC's so looks like it will take a lot of bending to bet it anywhere close. Has anyone else mounted these parts on there TC's if so can you post some pics for me so I can see how you did it. Thanks
Chris

I've not actually mounted one of those trigger guards yet, just fitted it into place to see what I'm getting myself into. The front foot fits fine on mine and the triggers fit inside the trigger bow OK. Where the challenge lies is getting the rear foot into place, as it will require enlarging the hole inletted for the T/C part. Make sure you have all the casting and mould marks removed from the steel part before beginning work, and be prepared to remove wood rather than metal to get the part to fit.

For those not familiar with the part in question, you can see it here: http://thehawkenshop.com/images/LARGE/LTGconversion.jpg

KV, I"m actually trying to mount it into a TOTW fancy maple stock that is listed as a replacement to the TC stock, I'm going to have to enlarge the front hole also but I've also tryed fitting it to the TC stock and its the same problem, the metal foot is much longer than the TC brass one. I've cleaned it up nice with jewelers files and sand paper, its real purty!!! This is the trigger guard I ordered from TOTW

That's a little different than the one I thought you were taking about, from The Hawken Shop. I thought Track sold the same trigger guard. How about the rear foot, does it line up with the T/C's inletting? I think I'd still rather remove wood than metal.

it lines up but will have to have wood removed as its bigger than whats been inletted, have to do the same if I used the original TC guard, I ordered one from the Hawken shop and see how it works when it comes in, I've got plenty of other things to work on with this project till the part comes in.

Just an FYI...T/C did change the size of the foot pads of the Hawken trigger guards over the years...old style had large feet and corresponding size inletting...newer style had smaller feet and smaller inletting.
