Is there a list posted anywhere that, based on serial number, would give an idea of when a TC Hawken was made? Did TC even do that? I realize that they preceeded the serial number with a "K" if it was a kit, but was just wondering if I could date the one I have somehow. I had forgotten I even had it. Picked it up at a gunshow in Texas in about 1990.
I have one from 80-81 K851xxx. Was 45 cal. Shot it out now a 50 smoothie.

I know this is kinda of an old thread, but just to help- I bought a new .54 Renegade from the original Gander Mountain store in SE Wisconsin in 1973. SN was 6866. Unfortunately the Renegade was stolen from our home in 1988.

The Renegade was the first firearm I ever bought so I remember it- even after 30 plus years.

Now I’m in the middle of putting a late production .50 T/C Hawken barrel 258xxx in a Pecatonica River maple stock and using Hawken Shop conversion hardware. My goal is to make a practical deer rifle. The fore end will follow the graceful Renegade pattern I remember instead of the squared off Hawken brass cap.

I have a few TCs in the safe with 4 digit serial numbers starting with 2s and 4s. I have an idea when they were manufactured, but gave up worrying about it years ago. Toss in the fact that many of the barrels (only serial numbered component) have been swapped out on numerous stocks, even if you had a manufacturing date, all you would have is the date the barrel was made.
