I ordered 2 nipples from TOW for my T/C Patriot pistol and received the nipples that were marked for Seneca, Cherokee and Patriot. However, the nipples bound up while I attempted to thread them in by hand. They may be the correct size but the one that is in the Patriot was noticeably shorter so I didn't force them. I don't have a 12-28 die so I couldn't dress them up in the die. I took a brass brush to them but it didn't help.

Any suggestions other than ordering a 12-28 tap and die?

Thanks

If they were marked for the Seneca they are correct. I would look to the threads in the rifle for a possible problem first. Someone may have used something else at one time and messed them up. A proper tap should, hopefully, clean them for use with the original style nipples.
