Has any of you all ever participated or gone to this thing? It runs from June 8th to Sept. 1st.I've heard about it but never gone.

I went about thirty five years ago. It's a theater in the round arena, action play about Techumseh, and the battle of fallen Timbers, and his brother the Prophet. May include stuff about Simon kenton, been a long time for the rememberer. Pretty neat I thought at the time, and pretty accurate. It's been around for a long time. While you are there, visit the Serpent Indian Mounds. Can't remember if it's a state or federal historic site.

Keb,
Tecumseh is well worth the effort to get there, we have been there and have taken the kids, who are now grown, and grandkids. Dress comortable and check the weather in advance, everything is outdoors in an amphitheater. If I remember correctly you can make dinner reservations but it has been a while so I would check when you order tickets. The theater is in the shadow of the Great Seal of Ohio.

Bill 45, we've been to the serpent mounds. It's curious...
We are planning going to the Tecumseh drama sometime before we go to Alaska this summer. It's gonna be a full year for us. We are just walking out the door headed to Xenia, OH. for the Greene Co. rondyvoo this weekend. This retirement life takes up a lot of time.

I won tickets about 2 years ago, so my wife and I make a weekend of it and camped at a nearby state park...that was the best part of the whole trip. Along with the tickets, we also got backstage tour passes. I thought it was going to be great, boy was I wrong!
Now let me state this right up front, if you are going for the history and accuracy, save your money, not even close! If you want a good show it wasn't to bad...
During the backstage tour they talked about and showed some of the guns used, all were percussions! In a battle that took place in 1790's...
So being the person I am and receiving the look of death from my wife, I asked about that, is was the answer, and I quote "
we don't care about historical accuracy, we just want the guns to go off"
So now we get to our seats and I'm looking through the program, not a single history background in any of the cast or characters....all had a fine arts degree from so and so's acting college....
So all in all, I went away disappointed, and with sore ribs from my wife's elbow form me pointing out all the things wrong in the play :barf:

And again it was the accolades of an actor vs. the truth and the History (or lack there of)
Sad, truly sad but my wife would have done the same.

Cheers, DonK

Well i don't know if the historic accuracy is any better but my grandfather took me to go see the play Bluejacket when i was younger and i loved it and my grandfather being the avid Allan Eckert fan that he was, liked it as well as the Tecumseh play even tho im sure he knew not all the history correct. But i too plan to go see the Tecumseh play also one day....when i find the time. So all in all i would recommend seeing it, you got nothing to lose but a few bucks but the memories and experiences are worth much more...bad or good.
