That ain't no forge that's a pig roaster! :rotf: That's a sure enough forge, it ought to be big enough to get most any steel up to temp! :v

You can make your own charcoal from hard wood. Just Google the process and it will work almost as good a coal!
 
I would splay those legs out at the bottom a little for better stability maybe even weld a 2x2 plate of quarter inch steel on them to keep it a little more stable.I had set up for a display outside once when it rained overnight,when I came in next morning the forge had upset,the legs had sunk into the ground on the heavy side where the blower was mounted and that was a factory forge with four legs.
 
I would also cut a slot in the back to allow longer stock to go through. Looks like you have a good start though. What type of firebox did you use. I built my forge from an old semi tractor wheel that I had to modify several times to get it right.
